Fashion: Summer in Pink

Hello again MBG readers! Lauren here.

Summer is  here {where did Spring go!?}, & I'm looking towards my favorite bright colors to start incorporating into my wardrobe. If there is one season to go all out in color, it's Summer. So, today I am sharing one bright bold color that will never go out of style - pink.

Image sources {clockwise}: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
From neon pinks to pale pinks, to a peachy pink, I love it all. Do you?

*Note: Remember when wearing pinks to not go too Barbie. Wear a pink dress and add in neutral colors, or go neutral and add in fun pops of pinks. :)
Stay chic,

Of A Kind

A reader pointed me to a site called, Of a Kind.

It's a clever site, where they feature select designers one at a time. They share a series of stories about each designer—inspirations, personal life, taste, training - along with a limited-edition piece designed exclusively for Of a KindNeat huh? Below I selected some of my favorites from their site - I just love this concept! Now if only I could get my hands on that camera strap, super cool.

Hurry before they sell out!

Design: Blue Pagoda

Drew here, so excited to share a short art history insight with you today.

This beautiful watercolor print, having roots in China and a recurring theme in European art styles since the 17th century, has been a popular design symbol in America throughout the decades. Most consist of peaceful gardens and whimsical imagery.

The particular blue pagoda is quite striking. It can be seen in wallpaper, bedding, art and decor. There are so many outstanding and unusual pieces of porcelain and china in these patterns that are invaluable works of art on display. From the most humble of cottages to the most royal palaces over thousands of years, these are some of our most priceless examples of design.

Have a look at the modern approach we've taken with blue pagoda today:

Deux Lux = P-r-e-t-t-y

Wow, yesterday was tough.

I hadn't felt that sick & exhausted in awhile. In fact, I didn't sleep much this past week & things just finally caught up. Ever feel like that? But, thank God, I'm feeling a bit better. So today I wanted to introduce you all to this AMAZING shop called Deux Lux. They have the cutest messenger bags - so glam & edgy.

You can carry any of these styles while you're wearing jeans & a t-shirt, they're that versatile! You may have already seen these cute bags, in fact the company was launched in 2005 by two ladies by the name of, Fati Mahdavi (aka "Mama") and Sara Naghedi. They've been featured on several blogs already as well as tv & so on!

My favorite bag has got to be the 'studded' clutch. Oh my gosh....I've been WANTING this clutch for quite sometime now - so, I'll just add it to my wishlist - again! Take a peek at the rest of their stash here, you will love it.
